An amiable orphan girl who aspires to become a doctor has grown up with her uncle and aunt and who values relationships above everything.
Shiv: Gayatri and Raghunath’s son
The MD of Kashyap’s hospital and a renowned neurosurgeon, but because of a painful secret of his past, he blames himself and perceives himself as unworthy of Shakti’s love.
Mandira: Shiv’s aunt, Keertan’s mother
Female antagonist, Shiv’s aunt, a self-centered, cruel woman who is willing to sacrifice even her own children to achieve her goals.
Manorama: Shakti’s aunt
An outspoken, simple person who does not discriminate between her own children and Shakti and is ready to do anything to protect them.
Rimjhim: Manorama’s daughter and Shakti’s cousin
who shares a close bond with Shakti but unfortunately, she falls prey to Mandira’s conspiracy.
Keertan: Mandira’s son
A doctor at Kashyap’s hospital and Shakti’s obsessed lover, who Mandira uses as a pawn to separate Shakti and Shiv.
Plot Points
1. Mandira reveals to Radha why she abandoned the latter in her childhood.
2. A Trivial argument leads Mandira to harbour hatred for Shakti, and she unethically gives Keertan credit for operating on a child that was meant for Shakti.
3. Raghunath holds Gayatri responsible for Shiv’s troubled past and ostracises her.
4. Mandira finds a suitress for Shiv, but the marriage gets called off as Shiv reveals his past to that girl.
5. Keertan grows a fondness for Shakti, but a misunderstanding leads Rimjhim to believe Keertan is interested in her.
6. Mandira locks Shakti in a room to arrange a scholarship for Nidhi, the influential leader Pandeyji’s daughter, in Kashyap’s hospital. However, Shiv, unaware of Mandira’s intent, takes Shakti out and selects her for the interview, angering Pandeyji.
7. Shakti’s family gets enraged at her when a picture of her hugging Shiv appears in the newspaper, which was taken when Shakti thanked him for her admission.
8.Pandeyji arrests Shiv at Mandira’s behest, but with Shakti’s intervention, he finally gets released, and Shiv and Shakti develop a friendship.
9.Mandira arranges to make Keertan MD, but Shakti convinces Shiv not to quit his MDship. Later, Mandira thwarts Shakti’s attempt to expose her by framing Padma.
10.Manorama sets Rimjhim’s marriage with Ranjan, who has his eyes on Shakti. Ranjan teams up with Mandira to teach Shiv a lesson and marry Shakti instead of Rimjhim. However, Shiv and Shakti expose Ranjan later.
11.Purnendu tells Mandira that to separate Shiv and Shakti, she must unite them first. However, Mandira grows worried as Shiv declines to marry Shakti because of his past.
12.At his advice, Mandira puts forth a condition that she will allow Rimjhim to marry Keertan only if Shiv and Shakti get married. Observing Rimjhim’s desperation to marry Keertan and Dadi’s insistence, Shakti convinces Shiv to marry her.
13.Shakti and Shiv agree to marry each other.
14.Keertan plans to ruin Shiv-Shakti’sw edding by bringing Shiv’s son Kartik into the scene.
