Logline

The story portrays Jhanak, an aspiring dancer, who desires to succeed despite growing up in poverty with her mother, Urvashi, devoid of a father figure. Her life takes an unforeseen turn after Urvashi’s suicide, as she gets entangled in a twisted relationship with Aniruddh and Arshi.

Jhanak

A young aspiring dancer with zeal in her heart to overcome the obstacle of poverty and fulfil her dreams.

Urvashi: Jhanak’s late-mother

A modest and simple woman, who tolerates the curveballs life throws at her to provide her daughter with a proper upbringing.

Shrishti: Urvashi’s half- sister
A successful and proud dancer, who looks down upon her sister, Urvashi for enduring a poverty-stricken life.

Arshi: Shrishti and Vinayak’s daughter, Aniruddh’s fiancée

An extremely competitive lady, engaged to Aniruddh, who dislikes Aniruddh’s empathy for Jhanak.

Aniruddh: Jhanak’s husband

A polite and down to earth individual who is engaged to Arshi. However, he marries Jhanak and brings her to Kolkata, attempting to support her after Urvashi’s suicide.

Tejas: Jhanak’s obsessive lover

A Kashmiri industrialist with the reputation of a philanderer, who lusts over Jhanak with the goal of marrying her.

Brij Bhushan: Jhanak’s father

 A renowned dance teacher, who engaged in an illegitimate marriage with Urvashi, resulting in Jhanak’s birth.

Plot Points

1. Arshi, Aniruddh’s fiancée, comes to Kashmir with her family and Aniruddh to attend a wedding, which is where she meets Jhanak.
2. Tejas demands Jhanak’s hand in marriage from Urvashi, who feeling helpless requests Brij Bhushan’s help, with whom she shares a relationship from her past.
3. Brij Bhushan not only refuses to help her but also denigrates her character, provoking Shrishti to evict Urvashi and Jhanak from the house.
4. Unable to bear the humiliation, Urvashi commits suicide, leaving Jhanak all alone.
5. Tejas sees Urvashi’s death as an opportunity and abducts Jhanak, aiming to marry her.
6. Aniruddh marries Jhanak to escape from Tejas, after she runs away from Tejas’ captivity.
7. Aniruddh learns from Urvashi’s suicide note that Jhanak is Brij Bhushan’s illegitimate daughter, and takes her along with him to Kolkata, stunning Arshi.
8. Aniruddh and Jhanak get married to escape Tejas’ wrath.
9. After discovering that Jhanak is Brij Bhushan’s illegitimate daughter, Aniruddh brings Jhanak to Kolkata, stunning his family.
