The story revolves around Lakshmi, a simple girl from a humble background who values family and has a tolerant nature. Her life takes several twists and turns, particularly after the death of her parents and her subsequent marriage. However, amidst all this chaos, she finds true love in Rishi.

Characters

Lakshmi

A righteous village girl who always puts other’s needs before her. She is deeply in love with Rishi but fate poses challenges between them and Lakshmi keeps thriving through the odds.

Rishi: Lakshmi’s husband

A rich Industrialist, who constantly juggles between the relationship with Lakshhis lady love Lakshmi and former fiancee Malishka.

Malishka: Rishi’s girlfriend

Rishi’s former fiancee, a selfish and vicious girl who can stoop to any extent to get Rishi’s love.

Vikrant: Lakshmi’s fience

An imposter with whom Rishi and his family choose for Lakshmi’s second marriage. However, later it is revealed that Vikrant has been cheating them by hiding his marriage with Saloni.

Neelam: Rishi’s mother

Rishi’s mother, is a firm believer in astrology and is convinced that Lakshmi is a threat to her son’s safety. She is determined to remove Lakshmi from Rishi’s life and supports Malishka.

Plot points

1. After Lakshmi’s parents pass away, their greedy aunt, Rano, takes Lakshmi and her younger sisters to Mumbai.
2. Rano plans to marry Lakshmi off to a drunkard named Balwinder so that she can usurp Lakshmi’s father’s wealth.
3. An industrialist, Rishi Oberoi’s mother, Neelam, approaches Lakshmi, and she meets Rishi, who has ‘Markesh Dosh’ in his horoscope.
4. Neelam gets Lakshmi’s horoscope checked and finds out that Lakshmi is lucky for Rishi and can save his life. Thus, she gets them both married.
5. However, Rishi, who was already in a relationship with Malishka, plans to divorce Lakshmi and marry Malishka after one year.
6. After their marriage, Lakshmi falls in love with Rishi but also learns about the truth of her marriage.
7. Malishka makes Neelam believe that Lakshmi is unlucky for Rishi and a threat to him.
8. Neelam and Malishka keep berating Lakshmi at every opportunity
9. Malishka & Balwinder create a lot of rifts between Lakshmi & Rishi.
10. Balwinder becomes obsessed with the idea of marrying Lakshmi.
11. Malishka falsely accuses Rishi of sleeping with her without her consent.
12. As a result, Lakshmi divorces Rishi so that he can marry Malishka.
13. However, Rishi realises his love for Lakshmi and confesses his love for her, but Lakshmi rejects Rishi and asks him to marry Malishka for the happiness of the Oberoi family.
14. Rishi brings Lakshmi back home and decides to marry her off to a suitable groom.
15. The Oberois fix Lakshmi’s alliance with a rich businessman, Vikrant Kakkar.
16. Soon, Rishi discovers that Vikrant is already married to a woman, Saloni, who pretends to be his sister-in-law.
17. Rishi exposes Vikrant, breaks his alliance with Malishka and marries Lakshmi in a temple going against Neelam’s wish.
18. Malishka plots against Lakshmi and gets her taken to a mental asylum.
19. After Rishi succeeds in getting Lakshmi released from the asylum, Malishka plots with
    Balwinder and Rano, and get Lakshmi back into the asylum.
