A selfless and devoted housewife, she breaks free from 25 years of turmoil and betrayal from the Shah house to remarry Anuj Kapadia, fulfilling her dream of independence while managing her family.

Anuj: Anupama’s husband

A rich NRI and successful businessman, Anuj secretly cherished an affection for Anupama for 26 years and eventually got married to her, embracing the challenges of her life.

Vanraj: Anupama’s ex-husband, Kavya’s husband

Engages in an extramarital affair with his colleague Kavya and gets divorced from Anupama.  His life becomes entangled with Anupama’s as they co-parent their children Toshu, Samar and Pakhi.

Kavya: Vanraj’s extra-marital lover, Vanraj’s wife

A charismatic young woman gets involved with Anupama’s husband, Vanraj. Fuelled by jealousy, she initially complicates everyone’s life. However, over time, she evolves as a good person.

Leela: Vanraj’s Mother

She upholds traditional values and shows her unwavering support for her loved ones. Initially, she creates obstacles in Anupama’s life but later mends her ways with Anupama. 

Malti Devi: Anupama’s Guru, Anuj’s mother

A famous dancer, who becomes Anupama’s Guru Ma. She initially plots against Anupama when the latter turns down her offer. Later, it’s revealed, that Anuj is her biological son.

Plot points

1. Introduction of Anupama and her family, including her husband Vanraj and their children. Anupama, a devoted mother and wife, is often taken for granted.
2. Vanraj’s affair with Kavya remains concealed from the family.
3. Anupama’s world crumbles when she discovers Vanraj’s affair on their wedding anniversary, driving her to the brink of despair.
4. Rakhi exposes Vanraj’s affair to the family, resulting in the end of Paritosh and Kinjal’s engagement. Later, they elope and marry.
5. Vanraj proposes to Anupama, but she declines, leading him to move in with Kavya. Anupama files for divorce, and ultimately, they sign the divorce papers with a 6-month provision.
6. Anupama’s ovarian cancer diagnosis emerges, and Vanraj postpones divorce due to her health. Despite Vanraj’s pleas, Anupama proceeds with the divorce.
7. Samar and Nandini’s engagement is arranged but called off by Leela and Vanraj due to Nandini’s infertility.
8. Vanraj becomes conflicted, temporarily disappearing. Upon his return, he marries Kavya.
9. Anupama undergoes a successful surgery.
10. Hasmukh surprises everyone by naming the house after Vanraj, Anupama, and their daughter Dolly, inviting Anupama to live with them.
11. Samar and Nandini prepare for Anupama’s dance academy.
12. Anupama suggests that Vanraj establish his café beside her academy, resulting in the creation of “Leela Ka Cafe.” Anupama and Vanraj embark on their entrepreneurial journey, with Anupama wholeheartedly supporting Vanraj’s cafe.
13. Anuj Kapadia, a long-time friend of Anupama, enters her life and offers a business partnership, causing jealousy and conflicts within the family.
14. Anupama makes a tough decision to leave the Shah house, supported by Samar.
15. Kavya’s manipulation leads to the attempted transfer of Shah house ownership but fails.
16. Anupama discovers Anuj’s unrequited love for her. Anuj confesses his feelings, and she eventually acknowledges her feelings for him.
17. Vanraj initiates a business partnership with Malvika Kapadia, to take over the Kapadia Empire. Vanraj manipulates Malvika leading Anuj to give the Kapadia Empire to her.
18. Anupama confesses her love to Anuj.
19. Nandini ends her relationship with Samar and returns to the US.
20. Kinjal becomes pregnant but shockingly, Paritosh refuses to accept the child.
21. Anupama and Anuj decide to get married. Despite differing opinions, they remain resolute in their decision to marry.
22. Anuj and Anupama get married. Anuj transfers the authority of the Kapadia Empire to Anupama. They meet an orphan named Anu, whom they wish to adopt.
23. Barkha conspires to take over the Kapadia Empire.
24. Anuj and Anupama welcome their foster child, Anu, while Barkha and Adhik manipulate Pakhi.
25. Anuj and Vanraj fall off a cliff, leaving Anuj in a coma. Upon his recovery, he shunts Barkha and Ankush for trying to take over the Kapadia empire.
26. Rakhi discovers Paritosh’s affair during Kinjal’s childbirth. Anupama learns about his affair and exposes him, resulting in his expulsion.
27. Paritosh adds further chaos to everyone’s lives by kidnapping Pari, but Anupama finds them and sends Paritosh to rehabilitation.
28. Pakhi and Adhik are discovered spending time at a resort and face resistance. They elope and get married, leading to Vanraj disowning Pakhi.
29. Anupama and Anuj arrange a wedding for Adhik and Pakhi, but Barkha incites Pakhi, resulting in her getting evicted by Anupama.
30. Anuj and Anupama become embroiled in a conflict when they witness a brutal assault and help the victim Dimple get justice.
31. Anuj and Anupama become apprehensive when they meet Anu’s biological mother, Maaya, sparking intense concerns about potentially losing Anu.
32. Maaya develops feelings for Anuj, and upon being discovered, she runs away with Anu. Anuj, blaming Anupama for Anu’s departure, abandons her and relocates to Mumbai to live with Anu.
33. Barkha takes control of the Kapadia Empire, manipulating Adhik to assist her. Her manipulation makes Anupama give away her dance academy to Samar and Dimple.
34. Kinjal enrols Anupama in Malati Devi’s Gurukul, where she signs a contract to pursue her dreams in the USA.
35. Kavya reveals her pregnancy, which is readily accepted by Vanraj.
36. Anuj discloses Maaya’s deteriorating mental condition as the reason for his failed reconciliation with Anupama, seeking a second chance, which she declines.
37. Samar and Dimple get married, and Malati Devi appoints Anupama as her successor.
38. Maaya transforms but loses her life saving Anupama in an accident. Anu’s health deteriorates post-Maaya’s death.
39. Anupama breaches her contract with Malati Devi by refusing to go to the USA, sparking problems in her life.
40. Kavya reveals to Anupama that Aniruddh is the father of her unborn child, causing turmoil in Vanraj and Kavya’s life.
41. Under Barkha’s influence, Dimple drifts further from the Shahs and demands a partition.
42. Adhik’s abuse of Pakhi is exposed, and although she offers him a second chance, it angers the Shahs.
43. The Shahs discover Kavya’s infidelity and her pregnancy with someone else’s child.
44. Anupama discloses that Malti Devi is Anuj’s biological mother, but he refuses to accept her, leading her to leave out of guilt.
45. Dimple announces her pregnancy, ending the home division.
46. Samar tragically passes away after taking a bullet meant for Anuj when he gets involved with goons. Anuj gets blamed, and Anupama distances herself.
47. Kinjal, Pakhi, Paritosh, and Adhik withdraw their support for Samar’s case out of fear. Yet, Samar’s killer gets jailed because of Anuj.
48. Anupama and Anuj divorce due to his frustration. Five years later, she leads a successful anonymous cooking challenge. Encouraged by Devika, she moves to America.
49. Anu, now Adhya, still harbours resentment towards Anupama. She’s stunned to see her after all this time, but Anupama doesn’t recognize her.
